Bio"Greetings Programs"
TRON is a simple program. He believes in the purity of his own purpose. Headstrong and straightforward. Loyal to his friends and ideals. He was programmed to be a warrior and a leader.
TRON'S BACKSTORY:
TRON's world is inside a computer system. A place where all programs are sentient beings, and the people who make and control these programs(called "users")are thought to be their Gods.
This world is the computer system of ENCOM. ENCOM is a highly successfull computer company that researches and develops products and technology in everything from video games to lasers. Run by an operating system known as the "Master Control Program" or MCP, which itself started as a simple chess program. The MCP ,once online, began a systematic take over of all systems at ENCOM and eventually started assimilating systems and programs outside of ENCOM. The MCP wanted to control the entire world. Starting with the computer systems of large corporations than moving on to government systems like the Pentagon and the Kremlin.
The MCP recongnized that the programes belief in their "Users" was dangerous to his take over. Belief in "users" meant hope. So all programs were given a choice:renounce this belief and serve the MCP or fight on the game grid(the equivelant of being a gladiator/slave).
TRON is a program designed by software writer Alan Bradley for ENCOM. Tron was intended to be a security program. Programmed to monitor all contacts between the system at ENCOM and other computer systems. His initial purpose was to be a watchdog and to monitor the points of contact and the traffic of information between systems, as well as to shut down any unauthorized contacts. However, once the MCP went online and began its take over, Tron was seized and given the same choice as all programs. Tron chose to fight on the grid.
With Flynn as his ally, TRON eventually fought against and defeated the MCP and its principle agent, Sark. And the system of ENCOM was free again.
Or you could just watch the movie its a friggin classic!!!!
